Yearnings.

The night has woven its heavy burden onto your soul, and you listlessly walk in the darkness of your room towards the only source of light that draws your attention, a slim sliver of moonlight peeking out from a tiny crack between the curtains. You part the material obscuring your view, and glance towards the heavens longingly, towards the bright celestial body that dominates the nightsky. Saddened with a heavy heart, you search for something, yet nothing, looking for an answer to some unanswerable question that rears its ugly head at you when you probe too deeply. Fleeting images of a tear-stained letter, broken champagne glasses, a cracked guitar case...running through your mind simultaneously, shocking in their clarity and ferocity. The sadness that seeps into you leaves its heavy hand on your heart, hoping to drown you in misery, leaving you with little strength to do anything but whisper a few words into the jasmine-scented breeze.

Where are you when I need you?
