Think of me.

It was one of the many nights when they spoke of what was, and what will be. Midnight heaviness clung at the lonely moon, a pale sliver hovering uncertainly over them, and darkness whisked away each glass shard twinkling in the velvet skies. The world was smothered in monochrome for a brief moment - arriving at a standstill as they gleefully drowned in each other's chocolate-hued gazes. Promises were exchanged (sealed with a kiss), and the strains of a lovesong drifted lazily towards the black-clad skies. Hearts were especially light, accompanied by smiling faces, and the world was pretty much near perfect - but they forgot that promises could only remain unbroken if they'd never been made.

My hand in yours, palm upon palm, as we strolled down the dark, empty streets. You left me high, undone, lulled, and reclined as I floated in your arms, half-hidden in the translucent embrace of the night. So sweet a silence that I've not heard before - standing above garish proclamations of love - so comfortable a silence, so warm a silence - I was starting to think that I'd imagined it all.

Tell me, when I was dead asleep, dreaming of these little comforts - did you think of me, too?
