Dancing up the age ladder.
One of my favorite girls ever just turned twenty - happy birthday, Michelle! :)
We had quite a delectable (but costly) celebratory fare at The Canteen, located at Shaw Centre. The food was really quite, quite good, but the service left pretty much to be desired. For the amount that we paid, the least they could do was to be more attentive and quick! Alas, things were not to meant to be - there were problems with the bills and some misunderstandings to wrestle with before we could leave the place in peace.
While waiting for the various courses of dinner to be served, I messed around with my new camera! Rejoice, for Dalena has regained her photo-taking abilities - which means more fodder for the blog, which has been sadly neglected of late. So, silly pictures were taken, like...
Introducing to you the "Couple Shots" contest:
Couple #1: don't they look so sweet together?
Couple #2: aren't we a lovely pair?
But Couple #3 stole the show!!
Here in this picture, they're trying to act all shy and nonchalant about things, these sneaky two. Well, we were all almost taken in by their act - what with their pretense of "just being buddies" and deliberately putting distance between themselves so as not to arouse any suspicion. But we know better, as earlier last week, they were caught in the act of...
However, they had to pay dearly for this rash display of affection. On Weiming's side, Boonseer apparently suffered from a bout of sudden nausea upon seeing this picture, and declared that she didn't want to speak to Lance for the rest of the day until she had recovered from her jealousy. On the other hand, Lance had a lot more to deal with, that poor boy.
In a fit of jealous rage, Crystal declared war!
Since then, the three of them have deviced a way to keep them all happy and safe.
They decided to share. Look at how happy they are - see, kids, sharing is good for the soul. :)
Anyhow, I digress. Here's a shot of all who appeared for Miche's dinner celebration today. These people are great to hang out with - ever so sporting and full of wisecracks - thank you for being such great company, folks!
After dinner, all of us (sans Weim) headed to DXO for the Fiesta Caliente event. As the Evo Express is currently indisposed and the cab queues were all insanely long, we had no choice but to take the bus down from town. Sounds easy, huh? Well, for us normal people, taking the bus is really no big deal - in fact, it's more like an everyday habit that we all eventually had to get used to, but for Mr. Wee Tze Yi...OH, THE HORROR OF HAVING TO TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORT! Well, looks like somebody has to start getting used to it until the car gets fixed. :x
Look at how miserable the poor boy is...
Henry Knowles, "DJ Extraordinaire" in the salsa scene, was invited to spin at the DXO event so of course we had to go check it out. Coincidence of coincidences - it was also his birthday! It's weird how so many people share the same birthday: Michelle, Henry Knowles, Peiyan and another salsero named Douglas. Happy birthday, all of you!
Cake for Michelle, Douglas and Henry! (Yes, I know it's a really bad shot.)
The birthday dances...
To add more excitement to her night, Jared & Miche came in third for the best-dressed couple contest!
Gupson showing us all what big balls he has!
Jared & I were bored. :P
Of course - I'm sure you all have already noticed by now that I've finally decided to go red. I was considering dying my hair a brighter shade of red, but I lack the guts to, so boo.
In all my redheaded glory.
Ah well, this post seems to have dragged on for waaaaay too long. Once again, happy 20th birthday Miche - and remember, we love you lots! :)
