Birthdays & kisses.
Dinner last night was really fun - too bad the rest couldn't make it though! A couple of us trooped down to Carnivore's at Chijmes to belatedly celebrate my birthday. The food wasn't that fantastic (Brazilia's is better!) but the company more than made up for it. We must have been a source of extreme entertainment for the staff there, what with all our crazy antics and our loudly stated bimbotic comments.
You mean beefs have humps? - Michelle, followed by Crystal bursting into relieved giggles for not being the only one asking if "beefs" have certain bodyparts.
This tastes of a meh. I don't like tasting the animal in my food! - Crystal, on the lamb steak.
Chicken heart tastes of heart! - Miche again...I've no idea what heart is supposed to taste like, really.
Well, okay, there were more really funny stuff that was said over the dinner table, but they kind of slipped my mind...I still love grilled pineapple, by the way.
All of us seem to have this strange fascination with kissing each other, too. Just take a look at the pictures taken:
I even have a video of Xiayue attempting to kiss Lance. It was hilarious!
Although dinner was on the pricey side, we ended up with 25 complimentary drink coupons at Carnaval, which was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, the coupons only applied to the icky beers (Tiger, Heineken), housepours mixed with soda, or juice on its own. Well, we got around that when someone came up with the brilliant idea of mixing our own drinks. After studiously poring through the drinks menu, they ordered some gin&tonic, rum&coke, tequila&7-up, followed by orange and lime juices - then we proceeded to mix them around like mad! The end products all tasted surprisingly decent - looks like we may have a future in the bartending line after all if all else fails (read: get kicked out of the LKC scholars program, flunk out of school, etc)!
I think the waiter there was also very amused by us. See, we bring joy wherever we go. :P
And the final (and very messy) group picture of the day...
Thanks to all who came - I loved the presents a lot. Weiming/Brooke/Eileen/Lloyd - you guys were missed and also missed out!
Want more photos? You know where to look.
I suppose growing older isn't all that bad after all. :)
