new york - sunset at staten 4:51 pm

...and we're back to continue the next episode of Dalena's New York escapades!

One of the cooler companies that we got to visit in NY was the Deitch Projects - some small art gallery tucked away in a random corner. When I stepped in, I was like, wow. :) Just check out some of the works -

I couldn't resist some degree of photowhoring in there.

Then we trooped over to gallery number two - also equally awesome (to photowhore in, if anything...!)

This is me with the Apple advert figures at TBWA too. We had one of our best visits to TBWA as well - it's so different from Ogilvy! The presentation was good and extremely interesting, and taking a walk around the office really let us see all the advertisements that they have done over the years. The atmosphere was so much less formal and stuffy than that of Ogilvy's, though their decor wasn't quite as nice, I must say.

I took one evening off with Bel, Brandon and Wenkai to hitch a ride on the ferry to Staten Island since admission was free. We caught the Statue of Liberty at sunset and oh, it was beautiful. :)

The background was perfect to take silhouette photos and pseudo-emo shots with, so we gleefully made full use of it. Look at my facebook-profile-worthy pictures that resulted! ;)

We had dinner on Staten Island after that, where everything felt so peacefully suburban and quiet in comparison to the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Just sitting by the seaside, bird-watching and talking over our sandwiches. A good break, really.

Once the night fell (really late there since it was summer time - the sun sets at 9pm everyday on average!), we decided it was time to head back. It was a different view that met our eyes this time around. The night lights.
